She strives for perfection As she stares in her mirror Judgement by others Is what she does fear Ugly to most, She'd been teased far too long Not once did one say That their comments were wrong She sees too much space Filled up only by her Things would be better To be skinny, that's for sure She now starves herself often All day and all night Hoping and pleading She's doing what's right When the weight finally dropped She still saw herself there She couldn't seem to stop Not until her bones became bare If only someone had stopped And called her beautiful one day They could've prevented The casket in which she lay.
